Care Home Activities

Therapeutic Activities

The home policy on “Therapeutic Activities” takes into account the Service Users' interests, skills, experiences, personalities and abilities

Activities are individually planned to meet the Service User’s needs. These needs are met following discussions between the Service User’s family and friends and care staff. Activities enjoyed include bingo, music therapy, coffee mornings and cinemas. Our residents also attend theatres and other venues to their own liking. Independency is encouraged.

Religion, Worship / Attendance At Religious Services

Service Users may attend religious services as they so desire. Service Users also have the right to meet clergy of their chosen denomination at any time, and we aim to fulfil these needs.

Holy Communion is available every month, we are happy to be of assistance in catering for any religious requirements.

All personal items should be labelled before coming into the home.

Entertainment is frequently provided by visiting performers, which can be enjoyed by both residents and relatives. We also encourage local organisations and residents from neighbouring residential homes to visit and join us for afternoon tea and chat. Several other regular activities can be arranged, such as:

  • Participation in games such as cards and dominoes.
  • Art and craft activities i.e. painting, drawing, card making.
  • Weekly movement to music classes and armchair exercises.
  • Listening to music and sing-along sessions.
  • Regular walks
